    Student Information

    The application for the Community Scholars Program (CSP) is now live! Students who fit the eligibility requirements outlined below are highly encouraged to apply! 

    Below are the requirements to be eligible to apply for the Community Scholars Program: 

    • Must be accepted to Earlham College 
    • Demonstrated commitment to leadership and personal growth 
    • Involvement in community service work throughout high school 
    • No minimum GPA or SAT/ACT test scores required. 

    Scholarship Expectations  

    Your Community Scholars Scholarship can be renewed each year for up to four years of full-time study, provided you maintain satisfactory academic progress. Here are the basic requirements for maintaining the Community Scholars Scholarship:  

    • Participate in an orientation with your cohort in August 
    • Attend monthly program meetings 
    • Attend one 1on1 meetings with Community Scholars program staff each semester 
    • Complete and log at least 70 hours of service per semester (approx. 5-7 hours each week) 
    • Additional requirements are listed in the handbook and will be provided upon acceptance to the program

    Please provide a resume or list of activities with service, family, school, religious, and/or work responsibilities (please list them in chronological order). Specify the length/frequency of commitments. Please provide any additional information you feel is necessary to describe the circumstances surrounding the activities you participated in.

    Select a volunteer experience from your resume and explain what made you passionate about that service. 

    As an Earlham student, you will interact with people on and off campus that might be different from you and/or think different from you. Describe an experience of working with someone different from yourself in terms of age, race, class, sexual orientation, religion, physical or mental disability, or another perspective. What did you learn from this experience?
